CABINET MAKER - WOODWORKER
About The Position
Southern Pride Custom Cabinets, an experienced high-end commercial architectural millwork company, is seeking entry- or junior-level Cabinet Makers - Woodworkers for its cabinet shop in Madison, Alabama, in the Huntsville metro area. The role is suited to hard-working candidates eager to learn and grow. The shop is climate-controlled, heated and air-conditioned. Hours vary with season and demand; the typical schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pay is commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid holidays, paid PTO, medical insurance, and more. Seasonal, contract, co-op, or temporary work may be considered depending on experience and company needs.
Requirements
- Be able or willing to learn to read prints and shop drawings.
- Be a detail-oriented self-starter who can take on tasks and complete them.
- Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy and be able to produce quality work.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Take pride in work.
- Be dependable and arrive at work on scheduled days and on time.
- Have a good work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in woodworking and/or cabinet building.
- Some familiarity with woodworking or cabinetry tools, or eagerness to learn to use them.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team environment where cross-training is encouraged.
- Operate woodworking and finishing machinery and use lacquer and paint products while following safe operating practices.
- Use, or learn to use, woodworking and cabinetry tools and equipment, including power saws, routers, power drills, sanders, and finish-spraying equipment.
- Perform other duties related to the position and team goals as assigned.
