Under direct supervision, learns and performs the basic skills and functions related to fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings. This role involves learning entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. The goal is to develop technical competency and problem-solving abilities to progress to the technician level. The position requires proficiency in preparing and making furniture using standard safety and operating procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools, and materials such as laminates and veneers. A material tracking system is utilized for parts demand, tracking squawks, and signing off completed work. Compliance with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, use of personal protective equipment, and protection of aircraft interiors are essential. The role may also involve assisting in the development and implementation of related initiatives.
