Under direct supervision, the RS Cabinet Maker I learns and performs the basic skills and functions related to fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings. This entry-level role focuses on developing technical competency and problem-solving abilities to allow progression to a technician level. Responsibilities include learning technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling specific to aircraft cabinetmaking, and developing proficiency in preparing and making furniture using standard safety procedures, design/engineering drawings, and materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips. The position also involves utilizing a material tracking system for parts demand, squawk tracking, and work sign-off, while ensuring compliance with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment, and protecting the aircraft interior.
