About The Position
This role involves stocking grocery items onto shelves, ensuring they are neatly organized in assigned locations. The position requires the safe use of a cutting blade or knife, and the organization, upkeep, rotation, and maintenance of back stock. The associate will oversee product quality before it is placed on the sales floor, build organized merchandise displays, and provide excellent customer service by knowing merchandise locations and suggesting company products and services. Additionally, the role may require operating equipment like a baler or forklift, and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the Grocery department.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Grocery department experience.
- Stocking experience preferred.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish).
Responsibilities
- Stock grocery items on to shelves and assure that items are neatly organized in the locations assigned.
- Safely use a cutting blade or knife.
- Organize, upkeep, rotate, and maintain back stock in good order and easily accessible.
- Oversee the quality of products before they are placed on sales floor for customers to purchase.
- Build neat and organized merchandise displays.
- Provide undivided attention and customer service to patrons.
- Know the location of merchandise.
- Suggest Company products and services to customers.
- Operate equipment and machinery such as baler, forklift, etc. based on operational needs.
- Perform other duties common to the Grocery department as assigned by the supervisor.
