About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a skilled Maintenance Journeyman to perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks on plant equipment and machinery, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within a heavy manufacturing or cement plant environment.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Basic computer literacy for CMMS data entry.
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, dust).
The successful candidate may be required to pass a mechanical aptitude test, and will be required to complete the OJT program.
Internal and External training will be required.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an accredited industrial maintenance apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including but not limited to conveyors, crushers, mills, kilns, and packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
Perform preventative maintenance checks and inspections, replacing worn parts and making necessary adjustments to optimize equipment performance.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
Operate various hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic and repair equipment.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and working at heights.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Collaborate with production personnel and other maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize plant operations.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of new technologies and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
