About The Position

Atlas Tech is seeking a C# .NET Software Developer in North Charleston, South Carolina, to develop and maintain software for a major Navy system. The role supports a group of related server and desktop applications, including frontend web interfaces and backend services backed by SQL databases. The developer will track deficiency reports, user feedback, and feature requests; implement related changes; and develop strategies and tools to improve development lifecycle efficiency. The position is accountable for defining, assigning, and tracking priorities in alignment with customer strategic objectives. The role is onsite and involves working with a small development team and communicating with technical and project management stakeholders.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship.
Currently possess and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
8+ years of experience working with a wide range of IT products.
5+ years of C# software development experience.
3+ years of experience with Linux; Red Hat is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent.
Knowledge of coding in compliance with current DoD Information Assurance policies.
Strong customer relations, documentation, and oral communication skills.
Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and commitment to quality.
Passion for learning about and working in the IT industry.

Nice To Haves

Experience with static analyzers such as Fortify.
Experience working in a software development methodology environment such as Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps.
Experience with containerized applications.
Experience with Navy tactical messaging networks.
Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Responsibilities

Maintain software with C# and C++ for Windows platforms.
Develop C# software for Linux/Unix platforms.
Use ASP.NET to implement web frontends.
Maintain related server and desktop applications and implement changes based on deficiency reports, user feedback, and feature requests.
Develop strategies and tools to improve development lifecycle efficiency.
Define, assign, and track priorities aligned with customer strategic objectives.
Collaborate on system architecture and contribute internal technical documentation.
Gather, infer, and document requirements from internal product owners and external teams.
Maintain and improve the GitLab build pipeline as needed.
Collaborate with a small development team to implement complex features and build and document shared system knowledge.
Write SQL for database schema modifications and queries.
Write Bash scripts for Linux/Unix and PowerShell scripts for Windows.
Develop software in compliance with current DoD Information Assurance policies and instructions.
