This position is for a C/JV Girls Basketball Coach at Air Academy High School. The coach is responsible to the Athletic Director and/or a head coach, providing coaching, development, and supervisory responsibilities for an athletic program. Compensation is contingent upon the specific athletic, activity, or academic event being approved by the District. The role involves consistently reporting for work, performing assigned duties, and achieving proficient evaluations. The coach is expected to communicate high expectations for athlete behavior, regularly communicate with the Athletic Director, and manage fiscal responsibilities in a timely manner. Professional growth and learning are encouraged. The coach must demonstrate solid knowledge of the sport, policies, rules, and game management strategies, and effectively understand and advance athletes' developmental levels. Compliance with governing body rules and regulations is essential. The position requires strong leadership, fair and positive behaviors, and effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders. The coach will build a program fostering individual and team growth, create a competitive environment, and apply strategies for success. Equipment maintenance, inventory, and re-ordering are also part of the role. The coach evaluates assistant coaches where applicable, maintains clear communication procedures, and values stakeholders. Injury awareness, communication with athletic trainers and parents, and ensuring medical release for athletes are critical. The coach plans for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual character development, produces detailed practice plans, and pursues professional learning activities. Timely submission of rosters, transportation requests, and certifications is required. Supervision of facilities and athletes before, during, and after practices and competitions is also a key duty.
