C&D Technician

About The Position

The C&D Technician performs general labor activities supporting water distribution and sewer collection sites. The role includes maintaining water, wastewater, and drainage facilities; conducting inspections; performing groundskeeping; maintaining supplies; and cleaning office areas. The technician may work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, and is subject to evening and 24-hour emergency on-call work. The position requires working around water and raw sewage and performing physically demanding tasks. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Ability to follow manuals and operating instructions.
Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures, and safety practices.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
Ability to use required tools, including a jackhammer and demolishing saw.
Comfort working in and around water and raw sewage.
Clear and professional communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to identify and solve problems, check work quality, and escalate issues appropriately.
Ability to work well with supervision, manage multiple tasks, and take projects to completion.
Positive attitude, accountability for personal performance, and willingness to help others and take on additional assignments.
Ability to frequently lift 50–80 pounds; load, unload, and move large equipment and tools; access confined spaces; and continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on-call work.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain items at water, wastewater, and drainage facilities.
Perform scheduled inspections.
Perform lawn and gardening maintenance and repairs.
Shovel dirt and gravel.
Maintain inventory of parts and maintenance supplies.
Clean office areas, including vacuuming, sweeping, collecting trash, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
Work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on-call assignments.
Follow company policies and standard operating procedures.
Manage multiple tasks and complete assigned projects.
Check work for quality, identify and solve problems, and escalate issues when appropriate.
Perform other duties as required.
