GrizzlyTrek is seeking one HPU Commissioning Operator to join our value-added client's team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This is a full-time, hourly contract position running September 14, 2026 to September 13, 2027, supporting the commissioning and startup of the Hydrogen Production Unit (HPU) at a world-scale net-zero hydrogen energy complex. The complex is one of the largest energy transition projects in Canada. It combines auto-thermal reforming (ATR) hydrogen production with carbon capture of roughly 95 percent of CO2 for permanent underground sequestration, Western Canada's only liquid hydrogen production facility, and a 100 percent hydrogen-fueled power generation unit capable of exporting clean power to the Alberta grid. The site ties into an existing regional hydrogen pipeline network in the Alberta Industrial Heartland and is positioned to make the Edmonton region the centre of Western Canada's hydrogen economy. With construction winding down, the project is now moving into commissioning, startup, and early operations. That is where this role lives. Reporting to the HPU Commissioning Coordinator, you will oversee the initial startup, testing, and stabilization of the HPU, ensuring all equipment is safely energized, tested, and brought to full production capacity in compliance with site safety standards. The work is hands-on and field based: managing vendors and subcontractors, troubleshooting equipment, verifying system performance against design specifications, and training the permanent Operations team.
