The Buying Specialist Sourcing procures goods and services in support of business operations. Working under general supervision and within established professional standards, the specialist independently handles most aspects of moderately complex assignments, using judgment to determine appropriate methods and escalating situations not covered by standard procedures. The role builds relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to support procurement and supply-chain objectives. The specialist supports procurement for new and existing products and non-production supplies, including requisitions, vendor contacts, bid reviews, contracts, and purchases driven by MRP. The position coordinates end-of-life last-time buys; monitors delivery, purchase-price variance, inventory, and forecast accuracy; updates assigned-part standard costs; and facilitates sourcing and quoting to improve supply and reduce costs. It also manages supplier relationships and performance, resolves material and supply-chain issues, maintains data integrity and parameters, analyzes variances and corrective actions, and supports audit readiness and closure of audit findings. The role is based in a normal office environment and may involve extended sitting, sustained visual concentration, frequent repetitive computer and data-entry movements, and occasional overnight travel.
