About The Position

Buyers help provide a positive customer experience by keeping products available and offering timely, friendly, and caring service. They work closely with Purchasing and department teams to ensure products are well-stocked, visually appealing, and handled in accordance with food and safety rules. Buyers may also assist in other parts of the store. The position is located at 740 East 7th Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and weekend availability is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.

Ability to work Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., with weekend availability required.
Ability to perform frequent stationary tasks and regularly move throughout grocery and storage areas; reach low and high shelving; frequently move containers weighing up to 60 pounds; handle packaged grocery items; and frequently ascend and descend a ladder.
Ability to work frequently in a walk-in cooler and freezer and be exposed to sanitizer, cleaning products, and loud noises.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a fast-paced retail setting.
Proficiency in inventory control and replenishment, including maintaining sufficient stock and minimizing overstock and out-of-stock situations.
Demonstrated understanding of financial statements, including sales and margin.
Multilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Help customers and provide timely, friendly, and caring service.
Order products and plan and execute timely orders.
Restock shelves and maintain sufficient product availability.
Receive deliveries and process invoices.
Make products and displays presentable.
Ensure labels and signs are correct.
Maintain health and safety standards and follow food safety rules.
Work with Purchasing and department teams to support product offerings.
Identify product availability issues, develop contingency plans, and make informed decisions based on data and trends.
Proactively identify department needs and share suggestions with the department manager and Purchasing team to improve systems and processes.
Support other parts of the store as needed.
Communicate issues and concerns to leadership and exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, by email, and in writing.
