About The Position

The Buyer reports to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for researching, evaluating, and buying supplies for the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
2+ years of work-related experience
Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other system programs
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Exceptional negotiation skills

Ability to develop and maintain successful team and cross-functional relationships
Distribution experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to pay close attention to detail

Research, evaluate, and purchase supplies based on price, service, and quality to meet the needs of the organization
Review the queue in Solar and place purchase orders
Item Set-Up and Maintenance
Vendor Set-Up and Maintenance
Update all pricing in Solar
Run inventory valuation report daily to help minimize inventory
Expedite purchase orders and track when incoming inventory is needed, monitor orders, and move dates accordingly
Consistent communication with Sales and Engineering departments, with a sense of urgency and quick response time for all departments
Create and follow up with work orders regarding kitting projects
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Procurement
