About The Position

The Buyer will purchase goods and services required to operate based on business needs in accordance with policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the Purchasing Director. The purchasing Agent will review and coordinate all purchases and deliveries of the casino resort.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Five (5) years of casino or hospitality purchasing required.
  • Experience with warehouse inventory ordering systems.
  • Solid working knowledge of the procurement process with a hands-on work style.
  • High degree of experience working procurement to payment process.
  • Must be a team player and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel in the corporation.
  • Must be detail oriented, ability to manage time, as well as ability to multi-task.
  • Must adhere to all Catawba Gaming Commission regulations and guidelines.
  • Must adhere to performance standards, company policies and procedures, as they relate to the department.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed.
  • Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms for purchases.
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders and contracts.
  • Coordinating with the Director of Procurement, project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that the orders are delivered to the casino on time.
  • Maintaining accurate records of purchases and deliveries
  • Ensuring that all purchases comply with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Monitoring the performance of suppliers and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Coordinates with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to maintain inventory and establish par levels as needed.
  • Evaluates venders based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
  • Collaborate with venders to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts and other available discounts.
  • Verifies bids are accurate and returned within the allowed time constraints.
  • Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
  • Assists with the preparation of routine purchasing reports.
  • Preform other duties as assigned
