About The Position

As a Buyer in Schaeffler’s manufacturing plant, you will help secure reliable supply, strengthen supplier partnerships, and contribute to efficient, cost-conscious purchasing processes. You will support market analysis and category strategy implementation, develop purchasing and negotiation strategies with relevant functions and stakeholders, and manage the assigned supplier portfolio. The role focuses on quality, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, sustainability, compliance, supplier contracts, purchase price planning, and savings initiatives that support plant performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in purchasing, procurement, or a comparable commercial role.
• Strong negotiation skills and confidence in supplier management.
• Good command of English.
• Structured, analytical, and team-oriented approach to work.
• External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without an employment visa or other sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of market analyses and implementation of category strategies for the plant.
• Develop and execute profitable purchasing strategies and negotiation approaches in alignment with relevant functions and stakeholders.
• Continuously monitor the supply market and manage the supplier portfolio to ensure quality, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, sustainability, and compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
• Negotiate prices and conditions in accordance with internal purchasing guidelines and contractual requirements.
• Manage supplier contracts professionally.
• Coordinate assigned suppliers, including purchase price planning and defining and tracking saving initiatives that support plant performance.
