About The Position

The Buyer performs a variety of duties to purchase materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies according to hospital guidelines for cost, quality, and delivery. The role participates in procurement sourcing teams for research, bidding, and contract management of supplies and services. The Buyer serves as the primary liaison between Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital and contractors and suppliers, and as the lead operational resource for procurement matters for assigned departments. The position is full-time, onsite, and scheduled for 40 hours per week on the day shift.

Requirements

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of purchasing experience.

Responsibilities

Facilitates and implements electronic commerce procurement practices aligned with improved strategic supply relationships.
Serves as the primary liaison between Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital and contractors and suppliers to fulfill contracts.
Develops strategic supplier relationships to support supplier input on cost-reduction initiatives.
Manages supplier performance related to service delivery to departments and resolves supplier performance issues.
Participates in procurement sourcing teams for research, bidding, and contract management of supplies and services.
Serves as the lead and operational resource for procurement matters for assigned departments.
Educates and advises departmental customers on using the Lawson electronic purchasing process.
Maintains files and records of current and potential supplies, materials, prices, delivery dates, and inventories.
Purchases official storeroom inventories, non-inventory items, and supplies according to standard procedures.
Updates files of open and closed purchase orders, packing slips, and other working files in a timely manner for reference and inquiry.
Assists Accounts Payable in accurately matching invoices to purchase orders.
