About The Position

As a Buyer, you will manage sourcing and purchasing activities for selected categories, components, or suppliers. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure quality, delivery performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the supply base. The role combines operational purchasing with strategic supplier collaboration. You will help build strong supplier relationships, support sustainability targets, and contribute to a resilient and efficient sourcing organization. This is an onsite position located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Local, domestic, and international travel of up to 10% is expected. Employees are expected to prioritize safety by following company safety policies and procedures, promoting safe practices, and constructively addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions. They must conduct themselves professionally and cooperatively toward colleagues, customers, vendors, and visitors, and comply with Alfa Laval policies and procedures.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant experience and/or 3 or more years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or procurement operations.
Knowledge of procurement processes, negotiations, and supplier management.
Understanding of sustainability, compliance, and responsible sourcing principles.
Experience working with enterprise resource planning systems and procurement tools.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A structured and detail-oriented approach to work.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Good negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
A continuous improvement mindset.
Curiosity and interest in developing smarter and more sustainable ways of working.

Responsibilities

Manage purchasing activities for assigned suppliers, materials, or categories.
Secure timely delivery, quality, and cost performance in line with business needs.
Build and maintain long-term supplier partnerships based on trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management activities.
Work closely with production, engineering, logistics, quality, and sustainability teams.
Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators and improvement plans.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase supply chain resilience.
Support sourcing projects connected to new products, capacity expansion, and operational improvements.
Ensure compliance with Alfa Laval policies, sustainability requirements, and relevant regulations.
Contribute to responsible sourcing practices, including supplier sustainability assessments and risk management.
Help drive digitalization and process improvements within procurement operations.
Participate in cross-functional and global sourcing initiatives when relevant.
