About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for procuring and managing assigned categories of finished goods, components, and services that support JPMS business objectives. This position manages supplier relationships, ensures material availability, analyzes inventory and demand requirements, and collaborates cross-functionally to support product launches, ongoing production, and business continuity. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proficient in Excel and ERP systems. This role requires strong communication skills, supplier management capabilities, and the ability to balance inventory, service levels, and cost objectives in a fast-paced environment. This role is hybrid and works 3 days a week out of our Santa Clarita Office.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data validation, reporting, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory planning, or buyer experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Experience utilizing an ERP system required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Experience managing finished goods, turnkey products, contract manufacturers, or consumer packaged goods preferred.
  • Beauty, personal care, cosmetics, health & wellness, or consumer products industry experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned purchasing categories, including turnkey wet line products, tools, accessories, and related materials
  • Review MRP, forecasts, inventory levels, and business requirements to determine purchasing needs
  • Create and maintain purchase orders and purchasing requisitions, ensuring accuracy and timely supplier execution
  • Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite, defer, cancel, or revise orders based on changing requirements
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, order status, delivery issues, and other purchasing needs.
  • Analyze inventory and purchasing data to identify shortages, excess inventory, discrepancies, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing reports using Microsoft Excel, Dynamics 365, and other reporting tools.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support product launches, artwork changes, packaging updates, and other product changes
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, item, and purchasing records within company systems.
  • Escalate supply risks, supplier performance issues, and purchasing concerns to management in a timely manner
