About The Position

The Buyer reviews MRP demands and validates requirements, then procures raw materials, supplies, and parts to ensure production has the items it needs when required. The role may involve obtaining quotes and bids, determining appropriate quantities, prices, and delivery schedules, and negotiating as needed.

The Buyer communicates with suppliers daily to support on-time deliveries, verifies order confirmations for accuracy, identifies bottlenecks, and communicates issues to management. The role maintains appropriate inventory levels to meet customer delivery requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges. It also troubleshoots issues with manufacturing and sales, researches and secures new vendors to obtain competitive pricing, and performs other work-related duties as assigned. The position is located at the Corporate Headquarters in Wichita, Kansas.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous purchasing experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry is strongly preferred.
• Use of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• College education or equivalent experience preferred.
• Syteline ERP system experience is a plus.
• Purchasing experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review MRP demands and validate requirements.
• Procure raw materials, supplies, and parts to support production needs; obtain quotes and bids as needed.

• Maintain optimum inventory levels to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
• Troubleshoot issues and work with manufacturing and sales teams to resolve them.
• Research, identify, and secure new vendors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
