About The Position

The Supply Chain Buyer will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities for the company demonstrating efforts to sustain and enhance Mrs. Clark's Foods’ position as a supplier of choice within our designated categories. The successful individual will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors.

Requirements

• Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with suppliers and customers via phone, email, and in person
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Strong attention to detail
• College Degree in Supply Chain Management OR equivalent experience
• Computer Literate

Responsibilities

• Verifies terminology and specifications of purchase requests
• Searches inventory records and reports to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity
• Contacts suppliers to obtain prices and specifications
• Verifies specifications for products to be ordered
• Meets with suppliers
• Must be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better pricing, and find more profitable suppliers
• Creates purchase orders
• Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries
• Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates to bidders or places orders with suppliers
• Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders
