The impact you'll make: Reporting to the Procurement Manager, Hard Goods, the Buyer, Sourcing & Production, is responsible for procuring the right goods at the best possible price to ensure a continuous supply that meets business demand. This role also provides analysis and procurement insights to help shape the business, deliver value, and mitigate risk. Working closely with Planning, Product, Innovation, Quality, and Sourcing partners, this role ensures supply continuity, competitive cost structures, and on-time production delivery while proactively managing risk and driving continuous improvement. All Saje Team Members are responsible for contributing to Saje’s culture and maintaining a positive environment for themselves and their peers.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in buying, procurement, or sourcing within manufacturing, CPG, hardgoods, or retail environments.
  • Experience managing Purchase Orders, Production Orders, and/or Transfer Orders with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exposure to supplier communication and negotiation related to pricing, MOQs, lead times, or payment terms.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, and related business teams.
  • Hands‑on experience working in an ERP system (e.g., AX, Rhizome, or similar) and maintaining accurate procurement data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Analytical and detail‑oriented, with the ability to identify risks, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Reliable individual contributor who demonstrates ownership, accountability, and a desire to continue developing procurement expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Execute ordering of components and/or finished goods in collaboration with cross functional teams; including but not limited to planning team, sourcing team and product team, ensuring orders align with buy plans, forecasts, and Fast Turn requirements.
  • Manage Production Orders, Purchase Orders, and Transfer Orders to support on-time delivery; monitor vendor delivery schedules and follow up proactively to mitigate risk.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date PO, production, and transfer order information within ERP systems (e.g., AX) and related documentation.
  • Support cost benchmarking activities including pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), payment terms, freight, and participate in negotiations to drive cost efficiency and value.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and co‑manufacturers through regular communication and follow‑up.
  • Support negotiations on pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and logistics in partnership with more senior procurement or sourcing team members.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on capacity planning and production timelines to ensure supply commitments are met.
  • Track supplier performance metrics and escalate issues or risks as needed, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Execute end‑to‑end purchase, production, and transfer order processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with planning requirements.
  • Monitor PO confirmations, production timelines, and shipment schedules, proactively addressing delays or discrepancies.
  • Ensure all orders are accurately set up, maintained, and closed in ERP systems and supporting documentation.
  • Escalate supply risks, shortages, or timing concerns with clear information and proposed solutions.
  • Partner with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Product, Innovation, Quality, and Finance teams to support sourcing and purchasing activities.
  • Assist with purchasing of newly developed components or finished goods, ensuring requirements for cost, quality, quantity, and timelines are clearly understood.
  • Communicate changes in supply, production, or sourcing status to relevant stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings to provide status updates and support decision‑making.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of assigned product or component portfolios, including pack sizes, lead times, MOQs, and supplier capabilities.
  • Contribute procurement data and basic analysis to support planning, forecasting, and cost management decisions.
  • Stay informed on supplier updates, market changes, and potential efficiency opportunities, sharing insights with the broader team.
