About The Position

The Buyer/Planner manages procurement, planning, scheduling, and disposition of non-commercial and development parts to ensure production activities meet scheduled requirements. The role coordinates procurement of raw materials, product components, labels, packaging materials, and supplies to support efficient production. It also ensures project production schedules optimize plant asset utilization and labor while meeting customer demands. The Buyer/Planner approves invoices and provides backup for other Buyer/Planners as needed.

Requirements

Degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
Two years of related experience preferred.
Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
Extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
Ability to analyze large amounts of information and identify key issues.
Detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.

Nice To Haves

Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Two years of related experience.
Experience with Epicor ERP.

Responsibilities

Create and manage RFQs/RFPs, including scopes of work; review bid proposals and make recommendations based on quoting analysis.
Lead sourcing, ordering, and expediting of materials for non-commercial and development production, with support from the Sourcing Manager, Engineering, and Technical Services teams.
Order materials managed by the ERP system.
Forecast usage and delivery requirements for applicable materials.
Order materials and maintain appropriate inventories.
Identify and analyze supply chain risks and opportunities and help develop solutions.
Administer the ERP system for purchasing and planning operations.
Ensure MRP/ERP systems align with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and industry expectations across the facility lifecycle.
Develop professional relationships with Engineering, Quality, IT, Finance, Operations, and Warehouse/Receiving to support process improvement.
Ensure purchased and manufactured parts are dispositioned promptly and in accordance with customer orders to maximize storage capacity.
Approve invoices.
Support other Buyer/Planners as needed.
