About The Position

The Buyer II supports high-volume procurement and strategic sourcing activities, with a strong focus on cost savings and supplier performance. This role processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders, manages sourcing events from initiation through execution, negotiates with suppliers, supports contract creation and execution, and drives cost-reduction initiatives. The Buyer II partners closely with internal stakeholders to support operational and capital expenditure purchasing needs while ensuring timely project completion, supplier compliance, and procurement accuracy.

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations, managing sourcing projects from initiation through execution including RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, and negotiations.
  • Proven ability to achieve measurable cost reductions and make supplier recommendations based on data and business needs.
  • 4–6+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing operations, processing high volumes of purchase requisitions and purchase orders in a procurement or ERP system.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage approximately 100 purchase requisitions per month with strong accuracy, urgency, and compliance with policies.
  • 4–6+ years of experience in cost savings and spend analysis, including cost analysis, supplier quote comparisons, and identification of savings opportunities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to quantify savings and support recommendations with robust data and reporting.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in contract and supplier management, including preparing contracts, reviewing terms, coordinating approvals, and resolving supplier issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work cross-functionally with Legal and business stakeholders on contract-related matters.
  • 4–6+ years of experience in stakeholder communication and project management, managing multiple sourcing engagements and cross-functional projects simultaneously.
  • Organized and deadline-driven, with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, leadership, and internal partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting, and cost analysis.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management within a procurement or sourcing context.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ivalua or a similar Source-to-Pay (S2P) procurement system is preferred.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, cost-reduction-focused procurement environment.
  • CPM or CPSM certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing indirect spend categories and supporting both operational and capital expenditure purchasing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships that support business objectives.
  • Experience preparing and presenting data-driven recommendations and savings reports to leadership.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage end-to-end strategic sourcing projects, including RFQs, RFPs, supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives by analyzing spend, comparing supplier quotes, and securing favorable commercial and contractual terms across indirect spend categories.
  • Process high volumes of purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) in a procurement or ERP system with same-day turnaround requirements.
  • Support both operational and capital expenditure purchasing requests while maintaining compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage approximately 100 purchase requisitions per month with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and urgency.
  • Perform detailed cost analysis and spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and quantify achieved savings against targets.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring terms are accurate, risks are mitigated, and approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal and business stakeholders to reduce contract rejections and ensure timely execution of supplier agreements.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to performance, delivery, pricing, or contract terms, and escalate risks appropriately.
  • Manage multiple sourcing engagements and supplier relationships simultaneously, prioritizing work to meet sourcing timelines and project deadlines.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and internal partners on sourcing progress, savings outcomes, and procurement project status.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sourcing activities, contracts, cost analyses, and supplier communications in relevant systems.
  • Use intermediate to advanced Excel skills to build reports, perform cost analysis, and support data-driven supplier recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
