About The Position

The Buyer II is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and services on favorable terms. The role includes supporting vendor qualification and evaluation, tracking purchases and vendor performance, completing documentation, coordinating supplier communications and shipping and receiving reconciliation, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and optimize inventory. The position may also involve other tasks as needed by management.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 2 to 4 years of related experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables.
• Understand and diligently follow safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle is desired.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms.
• Assist with qualifying vendors, evaluating bids, and negotiating prices and terms where applicable.
• Track purchases and monitor vendor quality and on-time delivery.
• Maintain a current database of vendor information.
• Complete required documentation.
• Manage supplier communications and coordinate shipping and receiving reconciliation reports.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and deliver on customer needs.
• Identify opportunities to optimize inventory levels.
• Perform other tasks as needed by management.
