About The Position

We are seeking a Buyer II to support sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities for the production and delivery of autonomous turret systems for the DoD. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities with increasing ownership over suppliers, parts, and cost, quality, and delivery performance. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, planning, and manufacturing teams to support both development and early production builds, while helping ensure material readiness and supply continuity. This position is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in procurement and is ready to take on more responsibility in supplier management and sourcing execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a manufacturing environment
  • Experience placing purchase orders, managing suppliers, and supporting production schedules
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with machined parts, electrical components, or manufacturing supply chains is a plus
  • Familiarity with government procurement regulations (e.g., FAR/DFAR) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers, ensuring they meet expectations for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive follow-up on issues as needed.
  • Manage purchase orders from placement through delivery, including order tracking, acknowledgments, and issue resolution to support production schedules.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for machined parts and electrical components.
  • Obtain quotes, compare options, and make sourcing recommendations based on cost, quality, and lead time.
  • Lead basic negotiations on pricing, lead times, and terms for routine and mid-complexity purchases, with support from senior team members as needed.
  • Track pricing, support cost analysis efforts, and identify opportunities for cost savings or improved commercial terms.
  • Monitor supply risks such as late deliveries, capacity constraints, or single-source dependencies. Proactively communicate and help implement mitigation actions.
  • Ensure procurement activities follow company processes and support compliance with applicable government regulations (e.g., FAR/DFAR).
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and planning teams to resolve supply issues, support builds, and align on priorities.
  • Support improvements in sourcing, supplier performance, and internal procurement processes to drive better efficiency and reliability.
