We are seeking a Buyer / Contracts Specialist to support both procurement and contract administration activities on site. This dual-function role plays a key part in ensuring materials, services, and contracted work are effectively sourced, managed, and delivered to support ongoing operations and projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, contracts administration, or a related field (mining, construction, or heavy industry preferred).
  • Strong understanding of purchasing and contracting processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP (S/4HANA an asset).
  • Exposure to RFQs, tendering, and vendor management.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and compliance focus.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in ERP systems (SAP or similar)
  • Source and procure materials, equipment, and services from approved suppliers
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve supply issues
  • Expedite orders and monitor delivery timelines
  • Support inventory and warehouse teams with materials coordination
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Support preparation, review, and administration of contracts and service agreements
  • Coordinate RFQs, tenders, and competitive bid processes
  • Assist with vendor evaluations and commercial assessments
  • Work with project and operations teams to define scope of work requirements
  • Track contract performance, milestones, and deliverables
  • Support contract negotiations and vendor communications
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and records
  • Assist in resolving contractual or commercial issues as they arise
