About The Position

Giga is building gigawatts of AI data centers to hasten a future of intelligence and abundance. We build data centers fast and at scale by combining the capabilities of an equipment supplier, engineering firm, general contractor, and real estate developer under one roof. Our team moves quickly and thinks practically. If you're ready to make an impact in an industry that matters, we're looking for people like you. The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here. The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship. The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more. The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of construction procurement or subcontract buying, running competitive bids for trade packages from request for proposal to award.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications and scopes of work, and to find gaps or conflicts before award.
  • Experience leveling bids and writing award recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of subcontracts, work orders, change orders, certificates of insurance, bonds and retention.
  • Strong vendor relationships and a habit of following up without being asked.
  • Bias to action. You keep packages moving on an aggressive schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Owner-side construction procurement on large capital programs, such as gigafactories, data center campuses, semiconductor fabs or energy projects.
  • Experience with data center, substation, MEP or mission-critical construction.
  • A Texas and Oklahoma subcontractor network.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools in your daily work.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another ERP, and with Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Own subcontract packages from request to award: civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and specialty trades.
  • Build each request for proposal with Engineering and Construction, and check the scope, drawings and specifications for gaps before issue.
  • Build the bidder list, issue the package, run the pre-bid meeting and manage bidder questions and addenda through one bids mailbox.
  • Level bids on a common basis and write the award recommendation: price, schedule, qualifications and risk.
  • Follow the competitive bidding and approval policy. Aim for three qualified bidders on each package.
  • Prepare the work order for each award from our standard form under the master services agreement.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with the vendor: scope, price, schedule and payment milestones.
  • Prepare the package for Legal review and signature, and track it to execution.
  • Hand each executed award to the Procurement Analyst for budget coding and schedule of values set-up.
  • Evaluate vendor change order requests for scope and price with Construction and Project Controls.
  • Build a qualified vendor pool for each commodity and region, ahead of each new project.
  • Qualify vendors: NDA, master services agreement, insurance, bonding and safety.
  • Run the post-award kickoff with each vendor, and track performance through the job.
  • Keep vendor records current in our vendor database.
  • Stand up subcontract procurement for new sites as Giga adds projects.
  • Improve our templates, playbooks and tools as the portfolio grows.
