About The Position

The Buyer Analyst evaluates prices for food supplies, equipment, and related costs by comparing vendor and marketplace pricing with prices currently paid for the same or similar items. The role determines the savings impact of pricing opportunities and recommends standardization or product changes. It maintains appropriate documentation and audit trails and ensures prudent, ethical pricing practices. The Buyer Analyst also assists and guides the Buyer to ensure appropriate stock levels of high-quality products are on hand.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Purchasing experience required.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems independently.
Knowledge of and ability to follow federal, state, regulatory agency, and JCAHO standards for sanitation, food preparation, and handling.
High proficiency in negotiation skills.
Ability to manage a heavy workload and adapt to changes to meet urgent and emergency requirements.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent purchasing experience in lieu of education.
Food service work environment experience, preferably in a high-volume healthcare setting.
