About The Position

The Busser supports the service team by ensuring the dining room is properly prepared, maintained, and reset throughout service while providing attentive support to both guests and servers. The role involves maintaining complete knowledge of and complying with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards, preparing and setting all dining areas for service, and setting tables before, during, and after service according to standards. The Busser will also perform assigned side work, offer water to guests, serve bread and butter, clear plates and silver between courses, and ensure the area surrounding tables and chairs are clean and orderly. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, China, and glassware throughout the day, completing closing duties such as restocking and polishing, and ensuring a clean and professional appearance are also key responsibilities. The Busser must welcome and acknowledge all guests, be available to run food, bus tables, and re-set dining sections, address guest service needs, speak clearly and professionally, develop positive working relationships, and provide service at expected levels. Reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors will also be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a server assistant, busser, or in a similar support role
  • Hospitality or restaurant experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Prepare and set all dining areas for service
  • Set tables before, during, and after service according to standards
  • Perform side work assigned by Supervisor
  • Offer water to all seated guests
  • Carry out service of bread and butter to guests at the appropriate time (if offered)
  • Clear plates and silver between courses and prep set up for the next course to be served
  • Make sure area surrounding table and chairs are clean and orderly
  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, China, glass, etc., throughout the day
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, polishing silver and glassware, etc.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests everywhere, always
  • Be available to run food, bus tables and re-set dining sections in all areas
  • Address guests` service needs
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Develop positive working relationships with fellow staff and support team to reach company goals
  • Provide service to always expected levels while on property
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
