About The Position

BerryDunn is hiring a full-time Business Valuation Intern for its Valuation Services Group, supporting work primarily with privately held business owners. The internship is based at the firm’s Portland, Maine headquarters and runs from May 25, 2027, through August 6, 2027. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to business valuation processes, client acquisitions and sales opportunities, market research, client interactions, and the preparation of valuation reports. Applicants must include an unofficial academic transcript with their application.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Finance, Economics, or business-related program.
• Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week during the summer session.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Submit an unofficial academic transcript with the application.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a positive attitude when taking on varied tasks and challenges.
• Show willingness to seek advice and eagerness to learn and grow.
• Show ambition and a strong desire to develop skills and contribute to the team.

Responsibilities

• Participate with team members in assessing and reviewing the value of client acquisition and sales opportunities.
• Analyze clients’ financial and operational readiness and learn about the valuation process alongside senior staff.
• Research industry verticals and economic factors affecting clients across markets.
• Collaborate with business owners and key decision makers from a range of industries.
• Create detailed, professionally presented valuation reports documenting business value.
