Hot Section Module Center – North (HSMC-N) is looking for a high-energy, dynamic team leader to fulfill a Business Unit Leader (BUL) role with oversight in fabrication and assembly departments in the module center. The BUL is responsible for driving exceptional performance in all key metrics, including but not limited to Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), quality, delivery, cost reduction, and fostering employee engagement. You will manage and coach a group of production cell leaders who are responsible for supervising hourly employees within HSMC-N. Moreover, you will build a team that is responsive and flexible, empowering employees from supervisors to operators. To succeed in this role, you will be someone with excellent organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills, as well as being able to thrive in a team environment with high-performance expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of manufacturing operations experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple departments.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of prior leadership experience, particularly in a union shop environment is preferred
  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related technical field is preferred
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (CORE, ACE, or similar functions)
  • Understanding and ability to drive quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Drive world-class safety culture and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly
  • Assist module center management in the development of strategic planning such as the development of forecasts, financial planning, training, and capital expenditures
  • Establish production schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities.
  • Work to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving business unit goals.
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a key working relationship
  • Lead EH&S, continuous process improvement opportunities, hourly staff planning, and critical resource allocation to ensure that business metrics are met
  • Develop monthly delivery plans that align with customer needs and satisfy financial obligations.
