About The Position

This position is responsible for building, maintaining, and generating business for Leisure, Corporate, Consortia, and Travel Advisors. Duties include conducting sites, prospecting, solicitation, offsite client’s visits, limited traveling, preparing, and executing action plans, negotiating Rates/Contracts for specific accounts.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete a contract in compliance with all checklists, standards, and corporate company policy.
  • Ability to manage and direct staff.
  • Ability to perform critical analysis.
  • Ability to handle multiple customer and operational demands with high degree of professionalism, operating often with time sensitive.
  • Computer knowledge and ability: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Opera, and other sales related systems.
  • Ability to operate independently and with a high degree of autonomy requiring excellent time management stills and self-motivation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently; Spanish is a plus.
  • Able to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy period.
  • Hotel product and industry knowledge, i.e., staffing, operations, safety, security, fire, police, city ordinances and permits.
  • This position requires a high degree of independent judgement and discretion on decision making.
  • Four-year college degree preferred in hospitality communications, sales, and marketing focus.
  • Requires a minimum of three plus years’ experience in the market with a proven sales track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
  • Hotel or sales experience.
  • Proven track record in prospecting and closing new business.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of market segments and solicitation of new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships with Travel Advisors, Consortia accounts and FIT clients while consistently striving to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation of services and prices.
  • Generate hotel/awareness through direct phone sales, direct sales calls, tradeshows, 3rd party relationships and networking groups.
  • Create action plans and target accounts lists as required from the assigned market to meet revenue goals.
  • Capitalize on Mondrian South Beach and Baia Beach Club marketing, sales programs, and resources.
  • Reporting weekly / monthly on sales activities assigned and solicitation and bookings efforts. Assist in preparing reports as needed as well as participating on the making of the annual Sales & Marketing Budget.
  • Maintain communication with various networking organizations; including but not limited to Chambers of Commerce, Visitors Bureau, and other industry partners in the area. Become a member and actively work as part of the overall Sales objectives.
  • Obtain new key-prospect, monthly and maintain / improve the actual hotel database.
  • Responsible for preparing, presenting and execution of 90-day Action Plan for specific region.
  • Conduct Site Inspections as requested and maintain internal communication.
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, sales trips, activities, and events.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings i.e., group resume, pre-shits, pre-con and post-con.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationship with key travel industry accounts to maintain and increase our market share.
  • Regularly contacting existing accounts base using the Hotel’s data base and past files.
  • Achieve individual and team goals established.
  • Contribute to Quarterly Action Plans and Annual Marketing Plan.
  • Manage, coach and plan effectively to motivate all sales personnel to do the best they can to achieve the departmental as well as the hotel’s goals and commercial objectives.
  • Seek new customers through strategic outbound sales efforts.
  • Manage own goals and expenses assigned budgets.
  • Required sales activities will include but not limited to attending tradeshows, network events, outside sales calls, client meetings, local / state or national sales trips as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Professionally represent the hotel at all industry/community functions.
  • Participate as a team player with all departments.
  • Assist with reports and/or competition data collection.
