About The Position

At Regions, the Business Transformation Consultant oversees the systematic deployment of project activities, tools, and processes throughout the lifecycle of a transformation. This role ensures projects remain on time and within budget, and certifies that project goals and success markers are met. The consultant collaborates with project teams, functional owners, and project sponsors, supporting and executing the full project life cycle to achieve specific business outcomes. This position shapes and leads organizational efforts, translating strategy into results by converting business needs into tangible delivery work. It involves partnering with key business, technology, and operations stakeholders to successfully implement the bank’s transformation goals. The consultant utilizes the transformation organization’s framework to plan, execute, and transition the delivery of simple to intermediate transformation programs or threads on complex programs. Responsibilities include developing and managing overall project plans to ensure transformation status and identify risks to success, supporting transformation managers on the delivery of enterprise programs, and working independently to draft project deliverables for review. The consultant maintains ownership during all phases of a program to ensure deliverables are executed according to plans, solicits feedback from supervisors, and provides project and program status reporting. Additionally, this position mentors other associates in developing business knowledge, analytical skills, and project management skills, relying on experience and judgment to perform job duties without direct supervision. This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for incentive pay.

Requirements

  • Master’s of Business Administration and six (6) years of transformation or project management experience
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and six (6) years of directly related experience in business transformation at a top tier consulting firm, e.g. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte, PwC, E&Y
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and eight (8) years of transformation or project management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a top 5 consulting firm is highly valued and may substitute two of the eight years for traditional transformation experience due to the depth, scale, and strategic impact of work performed in these environments
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Three (3) years of banking or financial services experience
