About The Position

The Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) is the largest organized research unit on the San Francisco campus, dedicated to promoting fundamental and clinical research on cardiovascular and pulmonary systems and providing postdoctoral training opportunities. With over 400 faculty, staff, and fellows from various departments, the CVRI requires technical support for approximately 400 faculty and staff using PC and Macintosh computers. This role is crucial for maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports the institute's research and training missions.

Requirements

  • Experience with PC and Macintosh computers.
  • Experience with workstation installation and maintenance.
  • Experience with application server installation and maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining LAN integrity and campus network connections.
  • Experience with hardware and software installations and maintenance.
  • Experience troubleshooting, setting up, upgrading, and configuring computers.
  • Experience managing Active Directory accounts.
  • Experience supporting connections to the hospital information system (APEX).
  • Experience supporting and backing up Windows and Unix Based servers.
  • Experience managing Screen connect remote software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to approximately 400 faculty and staff using PC and Macintosh computers.
  • Perform workstation installation and maintenance.
  • Handle application server installation and maintenance.
  • Maintain the functional integrity of the LAN and its connections with the campus network.
  • Conduct hardware and software installations and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, set up, upgrade, and configure computers.
  • Manage Active Directory accounts.
  • Support connections to the hospital information system (APEX).
  • Support and back up Windows and Unix Based servers.
  • Manage Screen connect remote software.
