Business Systems Program Manager

Jane
CA$118,800 - CA$185,500Remote

About The Position

We are building a new Business Systems Team at Jane and we want you to be a part of it! Reporting to our Head of Business Systems, this role exists because Jane has grown to a point where our tooling strategy needs an owner. Someone who knows what we have, what it's actually costing us, and whether we're getting real value out of it. Someone who can spot when two teams are paying for the same thing, coach a tool owner through a renewal negotiation, and prototype an AI-powered solution before signing a contract — all in the same week. You'll be part program manager, part strategic advisor, part builder. The balance shifts depending on what the work needs, and you're comfortable with that. You know when to roll up your sleeves and build something, and when the right call is just buying the right tool. If you're energized by bringing order and strategy to a complex tooling landscape — and by building the systems that make that work scale — this is a chance to shape how Jane thinks about software, spend, and vendor relationships for years to come.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in SaaS portfolio management, IT program management, or SaaS-focused procurement, with a track record of making tooling and vendor decisions at the senior level.
  • Experience owning vendor governance end-to-end: risk frameworks, contract assessment, and renewal cycles involving Legal, Privacy, and Security.
  • Experience in senior-level contract negotiations, understanding when to push, walk away, and build leverage.
  • Experience designing and scaling program management frameworks (renewal tracking, value measurement, request governance, adoption driving) and experimenting with AI.
  • Deep experience with tooling portfolios to distinguish intentional overlap from wasteful redundancy, and framing recommendations in terms of operational excellence.
  • A genuine point of view on AI, with real experience using it to solve problems and a clear opinion on when building beats buying.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where none exists.
  • Strong communicator at every level, able to explain complex vendor landscapes and renewals clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize Jane's SaaS portfolio, understanding costs, over-investments, and redundant tools.
  • Serve as the go-to person for teams before they sign contracts or spin up new tools, coaching tool owners on success metrics, implementation planning, and renewal evaluations.
  • Lead procurement strategy at the senior level, shaping purchasing decisions, negotiation tactics, and vendor relationships.
  • Design and implement a vendor risk framework that streamlines contract routing and utilizes AI for flagging unusual provisions.
  • Lead strategic consolidation decisions for duplicate tooling, framing recommendations in terms of operational excellence.
  • Establish a scalable framework for new tool requests to ensure company-wide impact evaluation.
  • Build AI-powered automations, tracking systems, and frameworks to scale work and surface insights efficiently.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package
