Build your career at US Aggregates! The Business Systems Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, administration, and continuous improvement of the organization's core business systems. This role serves as the primary business owner for our ERP platform and related enterprise systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively supporting business goals and data-driven decision-making. Acting as a bridge between business teams and IT partners, the Business Systems Manager translates business needs into system capabilities, governs system changes, and ensures systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities. Essential Functions ERP & Core Systems Oversight: Serve as the primary business owner for the organization’s ERP system, including operational, sales and reporting modules. Our ERP system is a custom built, highly modified system (Financial/Accounting software is separate with integration capabilities). Own system configuration, enhancement roadmap, and release planning in partnership with IT and external vendors. Ensure data integrity, internal controls, and compliance within ERP and related systems. Act as the escalation point for system issues, prioritizing resolution based on business impact. Business Systems Portfolio Management: Oversee additional enterprise systems such as safety tracking platforms, CRM (current or future), data warehouse, and other operational systems. Evaluate new system needs and lead system selection efforts, including requirements definition, vendor evaluation, and business case development. Ensure integrations between systems are well designed, documented, and maintained. Business Partnership & Process Improvement: Lead oversight steering committee for ERP system, bringing together key business stakeholders to ensure alignment across functions Partner with Finance, Operations, Safety, Sales, and other functions to understand business processes and improvement opportunities. Lead process optimization initiatives that leverage system capabilities to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and enhance visibility. Translate business requirements into functional specifications and work with technical teams to implement solutions. Data, Reporting & Analytics Enablement: Partner with Finance and Analytics teams to ensure systems support accurate, timely, and actionable reporting. Support data warehouse and BI initiatives by ensuring source system data structures and governance meet analytical needs. Promote standardization of metrics, master data, and reporting definitions across systems. Governance, Controls & Change Management: Establish and maintain governance for system changes, user access, and configuration standards. Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, audit readiness, and documentation. Lead change management efforts, including communication, training, and adoption of new system capabilities. Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers. Coordinate upgrades, patches, and enhancements to minimize business disruption. Track system performance, contract renewals, and total cost of ownership. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience supporting or managing enterprise business systems, with significant ERP exposure.
  • Strong understanding of finance and operational business processes.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience acting as a business owner or product owner for an ERP system.
  • Experience working with system integrations and data flows.
  • Familiarity with internal controls, audit requirements, and SOX-related considerations.
  • Experience managing external vendors or implementation partners.
