Business Systems Architect

OpenLoop Health

About The Position

The IT Business Systems Architect designs, governs, and evolves the enterprise application ecosystem that runs OpenLoop's business operations. You will own the end-to-end architecture across our core SaaS stack; including NetSuite, Jira, Confluence, Okta, Google Workspace, and Slack. You will partner with Finance, People, Revenue, Clinical Operations, and Engineering to ensure our systems are secure, integrated, scalable, and audit-ready. This is a hands-on architect role. You will set standards, but you will also design integrations, model data flows, and steer implementations from discovery through hypercare. You will report to the Director, Business Applications and work closely with the VP, Enterprise Technology and the AI Program team to embed automation and AI into how OpenLoop runs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise IT, business systems, or solutions architecture, with 3+ years in an architect capacity.
  • Deep hands-on experience with NetSuite; implementation, customization, and knowledge of SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, and saved searches.
  • Strong working knowledge of Okta (SSO, SCIM, lifecycle management, workflows), Google Workspace administration, and Slack Enterprise Grid.
  • Proven experience architecting and building integrations across enterprise SaaS platforms using iPaaS tools, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and event streams.
  • Demonstrated experience designing systems and access controls that meet compliance frameworks such as SOX, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
  • Strong understanding of identity, access management, and zero-trust principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical architecture into business language for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience with Atlassian tooling at scale; Jira Service Management, Confluence, Atlassian Guard, and Automation.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Fivetran) and downstream analytics/reporting integration.
  • Experience embedding AI/LLM capabilities into enterprise workflows
  • Relevant certifications: NetSuite SuiteFoundation or ERP Consultant, Okta Certified Professional or Administrator, TOGAF, or comparable.

Responsibilities

  • Own the reference architecture for OpenLoop's business systems landscape; maintain current-state and target-state systems maps, data flow diagrams, and integration inventories.
  • Define enterprise standards for integration patterns, master data management, identity and access, and environment/change management.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and rationalize SaaS applications; lead build-vs-buy analysis, vendor selection, and technical due diligence.
  • Partner with the AI Program team to identify and design opportunities to embed AI, agents, and automation into business workflows (e.g., procure-to-pay, quote-to-cash, IT service management, HR lifecycle).
  • Serve as the technical architect across the core stack: NetSuite (ERP), Atlassian Jira & Confluence, Okta (IAM/SSO/lifecycle), Google Workspace, Slack Enterprise Grid, and adjacent SaaS platforms as the portfolio evolves.
  • Design and oversee integrations between systems using iPaaS/middleware (e.g., Workato, Boomi, Zapier), REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
  • Establish data governance across systems golden records, master data hierarchies, and canonical entity models for accounts, contacts, employees, GL, and projects.
  • Own the identity architecture: SSO, SCIM provisioning, group-based entitlements, joiner-mover-leaver automation, and least-privilege access models.
  • Lead architecture reviews for new implementations, upgrades, and integration projects; produce solution designs, sequence diagrams, and decision records.
  • Partner with system administrators and business analysts to translate business requirements into scalable, well-documented technical designs.
  • Support SOX, HIPAA, and SOC 2 audit readiness by designing appropriate access controls, segregation of duties, logging, and audit trails within business systems.
  • Establish and enforce sandbox/production environment management, change control, release management, and rollback standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to functional leaders in Finance, People, RevOps, Clinical Operations, and Legal on how technology can enable their strategies.
  • Mentor system administrators and analysts on architectural best practices, integration patterns, and secure design.
  • Present technical recommendations to executive stakeholders; translate technical trade-offs into clear business impact.
  • Contribute to the IT roadmap, budgeting, and vendor management processes.
