About The Position

This position offers the opportunity for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to contribute directly to high-impact initiatives that shape acquisition and contracting strategy across the Department of War. In this role, you will apply your analytical expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and technical acumen to influence data-driven decision-making at the enterprise level. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in a business analysis, processes, procedures, functions, or product management role.
  • Experience working in a multi-functional environment alongside developers, database engineers, designers, and analysts.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with regards to making technical details accessible and transparent.
  • Ability to translate technical findings to Senior Leaders in a manner that is easily understandable to those less experienced with analytics.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including documentation related concerns.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues and drive to resolution, engaging support as necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to ask questions, conduct research, make decisions and complete assigned work with sometimes ambiguous requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on DoW Contracts strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Agile development, Scrum is a plus
  • Experience with Qlik Sense, DataBricks, or the War Data Platform (formerly Advana) is a plus
  • Experience with SQL is a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Gather Requirements: Work with clients to obtain, synthesize, and understand report requirements.
  • Write & Review Documentation: Create Requirement Specification Documents (RSDs) for Developers; review RSDs from other Business Analysts and Developer-produced documents to ensure they are Government-ready.
  • Collaboration with Developers: Communicate with and support the development team as they interpret requirements into design documents and build reports in the testing environment.
  • Report Testing: Conduct functional testing of reports in staging and production environments to confirm they meet client vision, adhere to requirements, and deliver value to end-users.
  • Deployment Activities: Prepare deployment documents using developer inputs, review with the client, schedule and lead deployments for tables, views, reports, and applications, and perform post-deployment validations.
