Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for the Department of Medicine. This role involves participating in the design, development, and ongoing production support of the department’s information systems. These systems may integrate throughout the hospital enterprise to provide business solutions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department’s service delivery. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related field. Associate degree in Health Sciences or Management Information System with combination of education and system knowledge related to the healthcare field.
Two (2) years of analysis experience in an information system healthcare environment to include programming experience in distributed systems development environment.
Able to demonstrate independent stages of project development with results.
An associate’s degree requires five (5) years of the required experience.

Responsibilities

Advises and consults with customers both internal and across the hospital enterprise by developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of the departments business needs in order to make cost-effective and efficient recommendations. (Manages the Concur system for all reimbursements for 13 Divisions of Medicine)
Analyzes department needs, translates requirements into program design; develops, tests and implements creative solutions to ensure the department meets long and short-term goals and business objectives. (Develop and maintain the annual Medicine Cabinet metrics in accordance with the HH matrix AIPs)
Maintains department registry and outcomes systems to ensure the data is available for reporting baseline, process, research and business and quality metrics. (Serve as the Research Administrator for DOM Research infrastructure)
Works collaboratively as a team member with user groups both within and across the hospital system; shares resources, information, tools and ideas that improve the department's services. (both in an acute and ambulatory footprint)
Initiates self-development by maintaining a high degree of business function knowledge and current technologies and seeks opportunities to educate end-users and peers to promote a continuous learning environment.
May develop appropriate linkage by integrating department systems with other systems to ensure efficiency and facilitate flow of information across the hospital enterprise.
Works independently by assuming project leadership providing the highest quality of system consulting in order to ensure overall customer satisfaction. May manage other staff members depending upon department. Serve as Administrator for Residency program business needs
