The Business Systems Analyst, Plex MES & Business Applications role is responsible for supporting, configuring, and enhancing Dunmore’s Plex MES environment and associated business applications. This position will act as the primary day-to-day support for Plex MES, handling user support, issue triage, configuration, data quality, reporting, documentation, training, and post-go-live stabilization. While part of the IT department, this role collaborates closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Receiving, Shipping, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure Plex MES effectively supports manufacturing and business processes. The role may also extend to supporting other systems like Salesforce, Asana, and internally developed applications, with Plex MES being the main focus.

Requirements

  • Hands-on knowledge of ERP systems or MES, including core workflows such as parts, BOMs, routings, work centers, inventory, production reporting, purchasing, receiving, shipping, quality, and finance-related transactions.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including shop floor execution, inventory control, lot tracking, traceability, scheduling, quality checks, labels, and material movement.
  • Ability to support (MES/ERP) system configuration, user troubleshooting, testing, documentation, reporting, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Working knowledge of master data, including part data, supplier data, customer data, BOMs, routings, approved suppliers, work centers, inventory locations, and user/security setup.
  • Ability to translate business needs into system requirements, configuration changes, process improvements, workflows, reports, and training materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify whether issues are related to process, data, training, configuration, access, hardware, integration, or vendor support.
  • Strong data skills, including data validation, cleanup, imports, exports, Excel analysis, CSV files, and basic reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including advanced JOINs, subqueries, and window functions for data analysis.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Receiving, Shipping, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and IT.
  • Ability to support shop floor technology in coordination with IT, including label printers, scanners, workstations, browser issues, and user access.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear documentation, work instructions, training materials, test scripts, and support procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain system issues and technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when working with system configuration, master data, security roles, labels, quality checks, and production transactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, support urgent production issues, and escalate appropriately to IT leadership, business owners, vendors, or implementation partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Plex MES is strongly preferred, preferably including implementation, configuration, post-go-live support, user troubleshooting, reporting, workflows, or master data support.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Asana, SQL, reporting tools, integrations, APIs, or internally developed systems preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, technical films, converting, coating, laminating, or regulated quality environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary IT application support resource for Plex MES after implementation and go-live.
  • Support Plex MES functionality across manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, receiving, shipping, quality, engineering, scheduling, and finance-related processes.
  • Partner with business teams to understand processes and translate business needs into system configuration, workflow, reporting, training, and support requirements.
  • Support Plex configuration and process setup, including users, roles, workflows, labels, reports, master data, control plans, part specifications, routings, BOMs, work centers, suppliers, customers, inventory locations, and related system data.
  • Support shop floor execution processes, including Control Panel, production reporting, source material loading, scrap reporting, lot tracking, labels, scanners, and printer coordination.
  • Act as an escalation point for Plex-related issues beyond basic help desk support.
  • Triage user issues, determine whether the root cause is training, process, data, configuration, access, hardware, integration, or vendor-related.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with IT, business super users, Plex/Rockwell, and other external partners as needed.
  • Support role-based access requests in alignment with IT security standards and internal control requirements.
  • Maintain and improve Plex documentation, work instructions, training guides, process maps, and support materials.
  • Train end users and support adoption across departments, especially during post-go-live stabilization and process changes.
  • Support data governance activities, including data standards, validation, cleanup, uploads, migration support, and ongoing master data quality.
  • Assist with reporting, dashboards, data extracts, and analysis to support business operations and leadership visibility.
  • Support system testing for upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, workflows, integrations, labels, and reports.
  • Help coordinate business application changes through proper change control, testing, approval, and communication.
  • Support related business applications such as Salesforce, Asana, and internally developed systems as needed.
  • Help improve consistency in how business applications are used across departments.
  • Assist with integrations and data flows between Plex, ERP, HR, CRM, reporting tools, and other business systems.
  • Participate in business process improvement initiatives where systems, data, workflows, or reporting are impacted.
  • Other duties as needed or required.
