About The Position

SuperbTech, Inc. is seeking a Business Systems Specialist to support a confidential client's Customer Information System (CIS) and related business applications. This on-site role in Fontana, California provides hands-on application support, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, release coordination, documentation, and process improvement. The specialist works closely with Billing, Customer Service, Accounting, IT, and software vendors to maintain accurate and reliable business operations. The role also provides backup support for daily CIS and billing activities during supervisor absences or as assigned.

The position supports CIS functions and financial workflows, prepares and coordinates application upgrades and releases, develops and executes testing strategies, and maintains production, test, and training environments. It also includes advanced user support, vendor and incident coordination, requirements gathering, workflow improvement, and backup operational support for critical billing and customer service processes.

Requirements

• Three or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting CIS or similarly complex enterprise business applications.
• High school diploma with some college-level coursework.
• Hands-on experience operating, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within complex business application systems.
• Advanced understanding of CIS configuration, customer accounts, billing, service orders, batch processing, reporting, and utility workflows.
• Experience planning application upgrades and patches, developing test scenarios, performing regression testing, and coordinating user acceptance testing and production validation.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, prioritization, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating with software vendors and internal business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to provide dependable on-site support in Fontana.
• Availability for occasional support outside normal business hours for scheduled releases, system maintenance, or emergencies.
• Ability to use standard computer equipment for extended periods and perform routine office activities, including occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Substantial hands-on experience with CIS version 4.
• Familiarity with utility billing, accounting controls, general ledger, accounts payable, procurement, inventory, and Infor applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for CIS functions, including customer accounts, billing cycles, rates, adjustments, payments, collections, service orders, reporting, and account maintenance.
• Prepare for application upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and new releases by reviewing release notes, prerequisites, dependencies, known defects, and operational impacts.
• Coordinate release schedules, readiness checklists, test data, deployment communications, and post-release monitoring with IT, vendors, and business teams.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance strategies, test plans, reusable test scripts, expected results, and supporting documentation.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, and negative-path testing; document defects, coordinate resolutions, and retest corrections.
• Support production, test, and training environments, including environment refreshes, configuration consistency, access validation, scheduled jobs, and test data integrity.
• Validate billing accuracy, accounts receivable transactions, general ledger mappings, debit and credit postings, payment processing, reconciliation, and financial system interfaces.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system interfaces, batch processes, imports, exports, reports, and data exchanges.
• Coordinate escalated incidents, service requests, product defects, and enhancement requests with software vendors and IT.
• Gather business requirements, recommend workflow or configuration improvements, and evaluate impacts on existing operations.
• Provide advanced user support, training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
• Maintain backup procedures and cross-training materials to support continuity of critical billing and customer service processes.
• Provide backup operational support, including billing-cycle readiness, batch processing oversight, exception resolution, prioritization, and escalation within authorized responsibilities.
