About The Position

The University of Illinois Foundation is seeking a Business Systems Analyst II to help develop effective business solutions through the implementation, enhancement, and testing of software applications. This role requires a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, familiarity with methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall, and a focus on process improvement to strengthen UIF’s enterprise systems. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week in the office. In this role, the analyst will troubleshoot system issues, gather and document requirements for enhancements, and drive improvements across processes, systems, and applications. Serving as a primary point of contact for assigned functional areas, this position will focus on projects, day-to-day issue resolution, enhancements, and system configuration. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and optimizing UIF’s technology ecosystem. Experience with enterprise-level CRM systems is highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with preference for Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Three years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role.
  • Strong facilitation skills with experience leading diverse groups towards resolution.
  • Ability to represent/communicate technical requirements and trade-offs in a business environment to facilitate effective decision making.
  • Proven capacity to understand complex business and technical concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adjust content based on the audience.
  • Ability to manage projects, production support and other tasks, prioritizing them according to business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience creating business process diagrams, functional specification documentation, use cases and user stories.
  • Experience with an enterprise CRM software solution such as Blackbaud CRM.
  • Proficiency with SQL.
  • An understanding of advancement concepts and processes.
  • Experience in Higher Education or a complex organization.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate meetings between business and technical areas to understand and document operational tasks and to design solutions that enhance business processes. Also, serve as a liaison between the vendor and internal staff.
  • Apply various methods to gather and analyze advancement business and system requirements. Create and manage comprehensive documentation (business process models, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories) across various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc) to support structured delivery and iterative development.
  • Work independently, manage a diverse portfolio of projects and production support tasks, and play a critical role in optimizing systems and processes for the organization. Prioritize and balance several tasks at once, including managing timelines, handling unexpected changes, and ensuring that all tasks are progressing as planned.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, propose solutions, test fixes or workarounds, and communicate solution to end user in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with business partners to build use cases, functional test cases and test scripts. Execute test scripts to validate & test software functionality and work to resolve issues.
  • Build expertise in UIF enterprise systems to be able to configure software to support business processes.
  • Contribute to release planning, prioritization discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives related to enterprise systems.
