About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Business Support Stores Supervisor to lead indirect materials operations at our client facility in Pontiac, Michigan. In this critical role, you will oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, and a dedicated team responsible for dock receiving, shipping, and material movement processes. You'll ensure operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency—directly contributing to JLL's commitment to delivering world-class supply chain and logistics solutions that support our clients' manufacturing success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of supervisory experience in warehouse/materials management operations
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in indirect materials or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) inventory management
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop team members with strong verbal and written communication skills and experience conducting performance reviews
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures, documentation, barcode scanning systems, inventory control principles, cycle counting, and purchase order management
  • Understanding of dock operations, non-conformance processes, quality control procedures, and supplier coordination
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, present information clearly, and manage stakeholder relationships effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field with 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Experience with union workforce management and certification in inventory management (APICS, CPIM) or supply chain management
  • Advanced proficiency with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems and experience with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, safety management, and OSHA compliance
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing industries with understanding of indirect materials and MRO categories
  • Experience managing teams of 10+ employees with demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, budget management, and cost control initiatives
  • Familiarity with contract logistics, client facility management, vendor management, and supplier relationship development

Responsibilities

  • Supervise indirect materials operations team, manage daily attendance, conduct team meetings, and provide coaching to employees while reviewing and approving time clock entries for payroll processing
  • Oversee dock receiving, shipping, and material inventory processes including daily scanning operations, shipping documentation creation, part lookups, and purchase order follow-up
  • Monitor and resolve operational issues with Dock/Crib/MRP processes while ensuring completion of annual cycle counts and maintaining inventory accuracy
  • Compile and distribute End of Shift (EOS) reports, maintain Level 4/5 BPD boards, IMM OT Equalization sheets, and process monthly shipper requests
  • Conduct SIF/GCTA reviews, complete layered audits with team members, review and update standardized work procedures, and process 2209 movement documentation
  • Attend weekly IMM meetings with IML, JLL BPD reviews, monthly staff meetings, and coordinate with UAW representatives on current events
  • Support MRP Planner and WRA Coordinator functions while conducting weekly TIS reviews with the team
