About The Position

As the Public Safety Parts Business Support Specialist II, you’ll perform a variety of accounting duties and support our Police and Fire technicians by having the parts they need to keep our City’s Public Safety fleet operational. This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year. We're an accredited pay equity employer! Your starting pay will be within the posted hiring range based on your years of experience and education.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Automotive and Medium/Heavy truck systems and parts knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
  • Three (3) years of full-time, professional experience in a related field
  • Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license not subject to restrictions

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) or more years of customer service experience
  • Experience working in a fleet or other automotive environment
  • Experience using a fleet management system (AssetWorks M5 or similar)
  • Experience using payment systems like PeopleSoft

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with City Procurement, City Finance, and vendors to ensure payments and credits are processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Comply with City Auditing policies and procedures
  • Utilize City Contracting for service/vendor contracts and subsequent modifications and increases as needed
  • Works with analysts to forecast and ensure alignment with parts budgets throughout the year
  • Source and order parts/stock orders for multiple service locations
  • Audit accuracy of parts from vendors and post/receive purchase orders in AssetWorks M5
  • Assist parts team with a variety of Inventory management responsibilities throughout the year
  • Deliver and pick up parts as coverage/needs require
  • Other duties as assigned
