About The Position

We are an engineering and manufacturing company based in Toronto, Canada, serving customers in globally and being part of the Toradex Group. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Finance, HR & IT to lead and integrate our business support functions. This role is responsible for: Financial planning, accounting and reporting Human resources and people operations Information technology and business systems You will build scalable processes, support growth, and work closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Senior Leadership to ensure the company’s financial health, a strong team culture, and reliable systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a Chartered Accountant qualification.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience within Finance in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience in HR and IT oversight; comfortable owning these functions in a growing organization.
  • 3–5+ years in a leadership or senior management role.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Comfortable with cost analysis, basic manufacturing/overhead allocation concepts, and margin analysis.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices, employment standards, and HR processes.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity fundamentals, and business applications.
  • Able to manage IT vendors and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities; able to develop talent and build trust.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to explain financial and technical topics to non‑specialists.
  • Highly organized, hands‑on, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growing environment.
  • Analytical and data‑driven with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong sense of ownership.

  • Additional HR or IT certifications are an asset.
  • Experience in an owner‑managed or entrepreneurial environment is an asset (hands‑on, multi‑hat role).
  • Experience working with ERP systems or similar integrated business systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Finance & Accounting
  • Own day‑to‑day finance and accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll coordination, bank reconciliations).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes; track actuals vs. budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Support pricing, margin analysis, and cost modeling for products, projects, and customers.
  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with external accountants/auditors for year‑end, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions and capital investments (equipment, systems, facilities).
  • Human Resources & People Operations
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, and offboarding.
  • Work with leadership to define org structure, roles, and workforce planning to support growth.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and procedures in line with employment laws (Ontario/Canada).
  • Support managers with performance reviews, goal setting, coaching, and handling employee relations issues.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, bonuses, and recognition programs (in partnership with leadership).
  • Drive initiatives for employee engagement, culture, health & safety support (in coordination with Operations), and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with labour standards, health & safety regulations (in partnership with Operations), and privacy requirements.
  • Maintain HR records and metrics (headcount, turnover, absenteeism, training, etc.) and report to leadership.
  • Information Technology & Systems
  • Own the overall IT strategy and infrastructure to support a modern engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Oversee IT operations (networks, servers, end‑user devices, security, backups) either in‑house or with external partners.
  • Manage key business applications, including ERP, accounting and HR systems, and other collaboration tools.
  • Ensure cybersecurity best practices, data protection, and access controls are in place and maintained.
  • Plan and manage IT projects and upgrades (e.g., ERP improvements, system integrations, cloud migration).
  • Develop and manage IT policies (acceptable use, security, password, remote work, data retention, etc.).
  • Maintain an IT roadmap aligned with business strategy and budget.
  • Leadership, Strategy & Governance
  • Lead and develop small, cross‑functional teams in Finance, HR, and IT (including external partners/vendors).
  • Provide clear direction, set priorities, and establish KPIs for each function.
  • Participate as a key member of the leadership team; contribute to strategic planning and decision‑making.
  • Create and maintain governance processes and reporting to provide transparency to ownership/board (if applicable).
  • Support risk management and compliance activities across finance, HR, and IT.
