This specific position is for an accountable, self-directed, and highly detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills and a client-centered focus to join the Nova Scotia Provincial Programs team. This team administers the Medical Services Insurance (MSI) program for over one million Nova Scotians. Reporting to the Team Leader, Contract Management, the role is responsible for supporting various government contract deliverables for government clients, with a primary focus on privacy and documentation management, compliance, and formal reporting.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Communication or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Strong judgement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe/Foxit Phantom PDF.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • English required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in privacy, risk, or audit functions.
  • Experience in project coordination/management.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, lead the development and review of written material to ensure conformity with brand guidelines and client needs.
  • Manage and maintain the Program’s inventory of forms, letters, and other published materials.
  • Lead and oversee the investigation, escalation, and reporting of privacy breaches, including coordination of notifications and documentation.
  • Monitor for trends and work with leadership and management to determine mitigation steps.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on privacy and compliance points of risk.
  • Complete privacy impact assessments, working with various internal departments as well as our customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the privacy training program for Nova Scotia Provincial Programs.
  • Ensure training content remains current, effective, and aligned with legislative, contractual, and organizational requirements.
  • Lead the development of the Program’s annual operations plan and report.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of core governance documentation, including business continuity and disaster recovery results, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Conduct regular reviews of compliance processes and business procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support staffing continuity and succession by acting as a knowledgeable backup to operational delivery roles when required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
