About The Position

The Analyst is a dynamic role within the US Procurement Contract Management team. Forward looking in nature, this role supports process and performance improvement initiatives, enables team capabilities, and identifies and promotes data-driven innovations to deliver long term value. The Associate Analyst will also support Contract Management efforts through data and analytics relative to Category Strategies & Management, team metrics, and market and supplier insights. This role presents a unique opportunity to work with all Category and Program teams within US Procurement.

Requirements

• Highly analytical; Able to draw conclusions and identify opportunities from various sources of data. Demonstrated ability to “boil down” intricate data and put into laymen terms
• Ability to identify complex problems and challenges, analyze the root cause and identify, test and implement innovative solutions
• Strong research, problem-solving and data interpretation skills
• Demonstrated effective communications, engagement and change management skills
• Results orientated
• Ability to lead a cross-functional project team to deliver tangible business benefits
• Influencer within the organization with ability to push for continuous improvement
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A or B.S.) in data science, supply chain, finance, business management or technical discipline required.
• 3 + year experience in procurement analytics
• Advanced Excel required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in analytics, supply chain management or process improvement a plus.
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau or other database solutions ideal.
• Microsoft Project or similar project planning software experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Lean Sigma or other Performance Excellence / Continuous Improvement methodologies tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor performance metrics; Evaluate and summarize data into quantifiable measurements/KPIs with corresponding trending, reporting and deep dive root cause analysis where appropriate
• Leverage Process Excellence principals to ensure continuous improvement opportunities are identified. Lead project teams to drive improvement initiatives, preparing detailed plans, tracking project performance, mitigating risks and assuring timely completion of deliverables
• Support development and continuous improvement of business resiliency programs (strategic supplier risk, compliance assessment and mitigation); master associated technology
• Perform in-depth internal and external research, analysis and summarization of regional, national, and global market and commodity short and long-term trends.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze contract spend for savings opportunities and provide contract reporting to various senior stakeholders within National Grid on the performance of suppliers and the status of contracts
• Support design and development of Category Management training programs and tools
• Analyze large data sets (i.e. spend data) and extract information for strategic decision making
• Extract data and apply statistical methods to understand, measure and provide insights about spending trends, supply base performance and value opportunities
• Collaboratively develop new or improved database applications and tools for better data granularity, availability, and integrity
• Other responsibilities in support of US Procurement team, as required.
