About The Position

The Business Strategist drives innovation across Sales and CS Operations. You will use data to inform actions and execute strategic pilots. These experiments aim to increase revenue and efficiency. A core task is setting the benchmark framework. You will apply advanced quantitative methods regularly. This includes machine learning and complex forecasting. This research supports senior leadership decision-making. You must also ensure data hygiene for all reporting and testing. Success requires collaboration with Product, Finance, and BI teams. You will communicate the value of analytics organization-wide.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience
  • Experience in strategic planning, sales, marketing and/or consulting
  • Exceptional critical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Significant experience in systematic experimental design and analysis resulting in operational / commercial propositions.
  • Experience examining large data sets (e.g. Python, R, Tableau) and proven database query experience (e.g. SQL), with demonstrated quantitative modelling experience.
  • Solution-focussed with exceptional leadership and influencing skills. Thrives in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation efforts across our Sales and CS Operations, utilizing data to inform actions that drive pilots and experiments to increase customer satisfaction, revenue and efficiency.
  • Drive experimental rigour and systematic thinking within the organisation. Set the benchmark framework by which pilots, experiments and research are analysed. Manage a broad portfolio of high value, high visibility initiatives.
  • Manager sophisticated research and analysis (e.g. clustering, segmentation, forecasting, scenario analyses and other predictive/descriptive disciplines across machine learning) for senior leadership to support decision-making and open up opportunities.
  • Communicate across the organisation the value of analytics to inform sound decision making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (with other groups, Finance, Product, BI, Sales, CS and Support teams) to refine recommendations and develop joint action plans.
  • Ensure the hygiene of the data used for reporting and testing, and structuring a solid system for purging and remediation of any issues encountered.
