About The Position

The Business Specialist II plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, with a focus on driving deposit and loan growth while ensuring full compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing a portfolio of business clients, analyzing financial data, and cross-selling bank products. The Business Specialist will also represent the bank at events and act as a liaison between customers and the loan department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum two years Premium Relationship Manager or Business Specialist experience required.
  • Related/equivalent prior work experience may be considered.
  • Must constantly exceed all performance requirements.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from directors, managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and group situations to applicants, customers, and employees.
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in various computer software and banking applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of all bank policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, safety rules, and instruction manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, interest, and percent.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality, security, and safekeeping of bank and customer information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of business clients to provide excellent customer service and cross-sell bank products.
  • Acquire a complete understanding of consumer lending and the operations process.
  • Analyze detailed financial and credit data to match client needs with appropriate loan programs and risk levels.
  • Solicit and prospect valuable relationships and participate in business development activities.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services.
  • Exhibit professional etiquette when assisting and interacting with business clients.
  • Represent the bank at required meetings and events on weekends or holidays as per business need.
  • Offer loan products and assist business clients with process requirements, acting as a liaison between the customer and the loan department.
  • Build and expand quality corporate customer relationships through outbound calls, outside events, and product sales, cross-selling, and referrals.
  • Sell and service all bank products and services while reaching and/or exceeding monthly goals.
  • Perform various account services such as balance inquiries, account maintenance, and credit card applications.
  • Strictly follow branch managers instructions based on employee quarterly performance.
  • Process daily overdrafts, uncollected reports, and outstanding past due credit cards.
  • Assist with the processing of business correspondence.
  • Assist branch management in delegated duties, including branch opening procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Process check orders, wire transfer requests, stop payments, ATM matters, and CTR processing.
  • Assist branch manager in delegating duties and ensuring team members comply with policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to daily Opening and Closing branch procedures.
  • Actively support the team to ensure customer expectations and company goals are obtained.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates.
  • Maintain reports, records, and documentation, ensuring complete, accurate, and concise records.
  • Maintain full knowledge and understanding of bank policies, procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Attend and/or complete all required training as assigned, including weekends.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies by completing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Act within Signature Authority Level, if applicable.
  • Adhere to the bank’s Employee Handbook and respect all its norms.
  • Proactively build and grow relationships, anticipating the needs of small business clients.
  • Identify small business owners' needs, complete loan applications, and help the branch meet quarterly goals.
  • Maintain full knowledge and skill in products/features of all deposit and credit accounts.
  • Order supplies and assist with filing, copying, faxing, or scanning.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Maintain branch equipment.
