About The Position

The Business Services Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team focused on the sales and delivery of technology solutions to business customers. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue growth by expanding business services, increasing customer acquisition, and maximizing the value of existing customer relationships. Core offerings include business Internet, VoIP, and Managed IT solutions, delivered with a focus on high service quality and operational efficiency. Working closely with the sales team, the Business Services Supervisor identifies revenue opportunities, develops competitive service solutions, and ensures the successful delivery of technology services. Managed IT offerings may include local network administration, network security, system monitoring, and performance optimization. This position provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to sales professionals and technical staff, with an emphasis on strengthening sales performance, improving close rates, and growing monthly recurring revenue. The supervisor fosters a results-driven culture that supports service expansion, customer retention, and long-term business growth. The role requires a strong combination of sales leadership, technical knowledge, and team development to drive profitability and support long-term customer success.

Requirements

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and management.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percents and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Computer Operations: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, routine database, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Experience and understanding of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model Layers 1-3 is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Planning/Organization: Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, organize, and coordinate assignments.
  • A valid driver’s license issued by the state in which the employee
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is desirable.
  • Related experience and/or training are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience and understanding of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model Layers 1-3 is highly desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Actively encourages teamwork, open communication, and cooperative interaction by promoting a positive work environment that reflects the company’s mission, values, and management
  • Plans, assigns, schedules and delegates work of employees and monitors work quality and employee performance.
  • Prepares and conducts employee evaluations, staff meetings, and timesheet approval.
  • Processes quarterly commissions to submit to payroll.
  • Promotes and monitors increased business customer growth.
  • Updates procedures and processes, as necessary.
  • Adapts to dynamic work environments.
  • Supports the sales professionals in the work of promoting and selling Valley’s business solutions.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding all VTG business offerings.
  • Helps to establish, maintain, and promote relationships with the business customer base.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality pertaining to all business situations.
  • Supports the Managed IT technicians in their roles of performing IT work for a variety of business customers with varying levels of IT needs.
  • Utilizes telecommunication installation standards.
  • Reads and understands blueprints related to telecommunications.
  • Provides troubleshooting support for business customers.
  • Coordinates with other departments as needed to work on a variety of business solutions and issues.
  • Ensures correct service order and work order flow and closeout.
  • Coordinates with management and business product development and new business product rollout activities.
  • Responds to business customer inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnosing system hardware, software, and operator problems.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and prioritizes customer service in all interactions.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on key sales and operational performance metrics, including revenue growth, Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), sales pipeline activity, conversion rates, customer retention, and service delivery performance to support continuous improvement and business growth.
