About The Position

We are looking for a Business Relationship Manager our Des Moines, Iowa location, to help expand our market presence by developing strategic relationships and identifying new business opportunities. Requirements

  • Proven success in business development, relationship management, sales, or account development.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and develop long-term growth plans.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to research markets, identify decision-makers, and convert connections into qualified opportunities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 2-3 years of experience in contract furniture design and specification is highly preferred
  • Must have excellent time management skills
  • Possess organizational and prioritization skills
  • Self-driven, proactive, and willing to take initiative
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial interiors, workplace solutions, commercial real estate, architecture & design, construction, or related industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build Relationships & Generate New Business
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with architects and designers (A&D), commercial real estate brokers, project managers, developers, property managers, general contractors, and other key industry influencers.
  • Network within professional organizations such as IFMA, BOMA, NDID, and local business groups to identify new opportunities.
  • Research prospective clients and emerging projects through industry publications, business journals, online resources, and market intelligence.
  • Create and execute strategic business development and marketing plans to drive measurable growth.
  • Build and maintain a targeted pipeline of high-value corporate, government, education, and commercial accounts.
  • Collaborate with Haworth representatives and corporate account teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Educate prospective clients on Fluid's full range of services, including workplace design, architectural products, relocation, decommissioning, branding, and other value-added solutions.
  • Position Fluid as a trusted advisor and preferred partner within the commercial interiors market.
  • Qualify Opportunities
  • Engage prospective clients to understand their business objectives, workplace needs, and project goals.
  • Conduct thorough discovery conversations and needs assessments to qualify opportunities.
  • Research client organizations and industry trends to better understand business drivers and challenges.
  • Introduce qualified opportunities to the sales team and facilitate a seamless transition for continued relationship development.
  • Participate in client presentations and meetings to showcase Fluid's capabilities and solutions.
  • Collaborate for Success
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to support business development initiatives.
  • Assist with developing compelling presentations, proposals, and marketing materials.
  • Maintain accurate prospect information and pipeline activity.
  • Provide exceptional responsiveness and follow-up to prospective clients and industry partners.
